Hamburger Hamlet Posts $649,000 Loss in Period
Hamburger Hamlet Restaurants Inc. in Sherman Oaks reported a $649,000 third-quarter net loss, the result of lower sales in Chicago and Southern California and the uncompleted remodeling of its Sherman Oaks restaurant.
The chain’s loss in the quarter ended Sept. 25 contrasted with a year-earlier profit of $400,000. Its quarterly revenue edged down 2%, to $16.8 million from $17.1 million.
For the latest nine-month period, Hamburger Hamlet reported a $962,000 loss, compared to a year-before profit of $1.06 million. Its revenue was unchanged at $51.6 million.
