Alarm Accounts Transferred: Protection One Inc. has acquired from Knight Protective Industries Inc. substantially all of Knight’s security alarm monitoring accounts. Most of the 9,200 accounts are residential subscribers in California. Portland, Ore.-based Protection One sells, installs and monitors security alarm systems for residential and commercial subscribers, mostly in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Arizona. The transaction with North Hollywood-based Knight comes on the heels of four smaller account acquisitions by Protection One in the last month. Representatives of both companies said there will be no change in the quality of service to customers.
