Pricier Paper Products: Scott Paper Co. said it is raising prices 10% on its commercial brands in the United States, effective Jan. 2. The announcement comes just more than a week after Scott disclosed 5% to 8% price increases on its consumer product line, which includes ScotTissue, ScotTowels and Viva napkins. Scott Paper, with annual sales of about $4.4 billion, is the world’s largest maker of sanitary tissue products. Rival paper-product makers James River Corp. and Procter & Gamble Co. announced price increases earlier this year, citing increasing pulp prices.
