The financially troubled French wine company SA Maison Joseph Drouhin has announced that 51% of the company had been sold to Snow Brand Milk Products Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan’s largest dairy company, which has worked with Drouhin in other capacities for two decades. Robert Drouhin remains chief executive officer of the wine company and the Drouhin family will be allowed to regain control of the company at some future date.

The Drouhin winery in Burgundy and its Domaine Drouhin project in Oregon will both continue to be operated by the Drouhin family.
