Export-Import Bank President Nominated: Martin Kamarck has been nominated by President Clinton to serve as president of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Kamarck is currently vice chairman of the bank and would assume the chairmanship when confirmed by the Senate. He would succeed Kenneth Brody, who resigned. The Ex-Im Bank, as it is known, is an independent agency that provides loans and political risk guarantees for U.S. companies’ exports. Kamarck was a director and consultant to the bank before becoming vice chairman. He is a former co-director of the structured finance department of the Financial Guaranty Insurance Co. and a former partner in the Morrison & Forester law firm in Washington.
