Making Cents: Busting a Stereotype
Think older investors usually make the most conservative financial decisions? Think again. A mutual fund trade group reported recently that fund holders ages 71 to 91 have 25% of their assets in mutual funds--and more than three quarters of that is in stock funds. About 58% also own individual stocks and a majority, 65%, said they are willing to take investment risks to get better returns.
