ICN Senior Vice President Named
Devron Averett has been appointed corporate senior vice president of research and development for ICN Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Costa Mesa. He joins the company from Glaxo Wellcome Inc., where he headed the department of molecular and cellular virology at Glaxo Wellcome Research Laboratories.
* Ron Nelson has been named director of client services at Morrison, Lee & Stevens, an Irvine advertising and public relations agency. He had been account supervisor.
* Ronald W. Kuhl has joined NetSoft, an Irvine software company, in the newly created position of vice president of marketing. Kuhl was most recently vice president of advertising and marketing services at Interactive Video Enterprises in San Ramon. Prior to that, he was vice president of marketing at Castelle, a developer of networking productivity products based in Santa Clara.
* Aimee Knutson Goldberg has been appointed to the newly created position of director of revenue management at the Anaheim Hilton and Towers. For the last seven years, she has held a variety of management positions in operations, marketing and training at Hilton Hotels Corp. headquarters in Beverly Hills.
* Peter Dignan, Larry Elder, Richard Ream and R. Thomas Spurr have joined ProSoft Development Inc., a Buena Park provider of Internet and Intranet training and consulting as regional vice presidents of sales. Dignan, who previously managed the Sun Microsystems Training operation for the Midwest division of NSC Systems Group, is responsible for ProSoft sales in the Central region. Elder, responsible for Southeast region sales, had a 15-year career with Deltak. Ream, who will handle the Western region, formerly held senior level management positions at several computer and software related companies, including CBT Systems, IBM and National Education Training Group. Spurr is responsible for ProSoft sales in the Northeast region. He has served as vice president of sales and national sales manager for several major software companies.
* Barbara A. Catino has been appointed manager, information technology for Ropak Corp., a Fullerton maker of plastic packaging and materials handling products. For the past six years, she was director of information services for Baxter Healthcare in Glendale. Before that, Catino held managerial positions in operations management consulting with Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche.
* Kenneth D. Hastings has been named corporate controller of Simulation Sciences Inc. in Brea. He was previously corporate controller of Cimco Inc. and before that, was group controller at Quikset Inc. Hastings also held the position of senior accountant at Deloitte & Touche in Costa Mesa.
