Medical Science Systems Names Evan B. Siegel as a Vice President

* Evan B. Siegel has joined Medical Science Systems Inc. in Newport Beach as vice president of regulatory affairs. Siegel had been director of regulatory services, director of regulatory consulting and principal regulatory scientist since 1994 at Quintiles Inc., a contract research organization.

* Dale McDaniel has been appointed general manager for the Hyatt Newporter in Newport Beach, responsible for the overall management and operations of the 26-acre resort. He was formerly general manager at the Hyatt Regency St. John in the Virgin Islands. In his 15-year career with Hyatt Hotels Corp., McDaniel has also held management positions at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando and the Hyatt Regency Maui.

* Dean Ruhmel has joined PIA Merchandising Services Inc. in Irvine as senior vice president, chief information officer. He was formerly senior vice president and director of information systems for Fedco Inc. Before that, he was with Citicorp Retail Services for nine years as a vice president and director of new business development.
