Telescene, Partners to Unveil Action Network
Canada’s Telescene Film Group and two production companies said they will invest $200 million in a new TV network that will create action-adventure movies and series to air on the DirecTV satellite service. The agreement with DirecTV, which has more than 3 million subscribers, marks the first time in the U.S. that a satellite TV service will broadcast new TV movies before they appear on broadcast, pay television or cable outlets, the partners said.
