Eltron Reports 31% Increase in 3rd-Quarter Net
Eltron International in Simi Valley announced that third-quarter net income was up 31% over last year.
Sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30 rose to $25.6 million from $24 million for the same period last year. Net income was $3.5 million, up from $2.7 million during the third quarter of 1996. Earnings per share increased 29% to 44 cents per share, from 34 cents during the third quarter of 1996.
“Although the UPS strike presented a challenge, we were able to meet our goals for the period,” said Donald K. Skinner, chairman and chief executive officer. “We made strong progress in the development of new products, new customers and new channels during this quarter.”
Eltron International designs and manufactures thermal label and plastic card printers. Major users include the health-care, retail, manufacturing, automotive, package delivery, financial services and security industries.
