Man Who Shot Woman and Self at Station Dies
A man who shot his former girlfriend as she arrived for work at a Pasadena radio station and then turned the handgun on himself died early Wednesday.
Julio Hernandez Carrillo, 28, of Baldwin Park died shortly after midnight of a gunshot wound in the head, Huntington Memorial Hospital officials said.
Claudia Yanez, 20, of Monterey Park, who was shot once in the head, remained in intensive care, a hospital official said.
Yanez was shot shortly before 9 a.m. as she entered the rear entrance of an office building on Green Street, where she worked as a receptionist for Radio KALI.
Employees at the radio station said Yanez had not dated her attacker for a year, but he continued to call her, send unwanted gifts and had recently threatened her.
Hernandez Carrillo apparently was waiting for Yanez inside the building, police said.
