GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS

Bernards Bros. Inc. of San Fernando won a $4.5-million contract from the U.S. Postal Service in San Francisco for construction services.

* Apex General Contractors in Ventura was awarded a contract for $258,413 from the county of Ventura to do construction work on the building that houses the county’s Corrections Services Agency and the Public Social Services Agency. The project on Vanguard Drive in Ventura consists of building a wall to separate the two agencies, installing office spaces and rooms, and constructing a bulletproof reception counter and metal detection entrance for the CSA.

The work is scheduled to begin today and be completed by Aug. 25.

* The regents of the University of California Institute for Computational Earth System Science at Santa Barbara won a $167,640 contract from the NASA / Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., for high-frequency, longtime series measurements from the Bermuda test bed mooring in support of sensor intercomparison and merger for biological and interdisciplinary oceanic studies.

* G and H Technology Inc. of Camarillo won a $95,060 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, for electrical connector adapters.

* Taft Electric Co. of Ventura was awarded a contract for $92,225 from the county of Ventura to install a traffic signal at Santa Rosa Road at Vista Grande near Thousand Oaks. The project includes traffic signals, safety lights and pedestrian crosswalks.

The project is scheduled to begin today and be completed in October.

* Litton Systems Inc. of Agoura Hills won a $40,341 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, for circuit card assemblies.

* Precision Specialties Inc. of Northridge won a $25,995 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, for masts.
