* Microsoft Corp. said its Windows 98 operating system will be available in stores June 25 amid the company’s biggest marketing blitz since it released Windows 95.
* Waste recycler Safety-Kleen Corp. accepted a sweetened $1.8-billion takeover offer from Laidlaw Environmental Services Inc., removing the last obstacle to what had been a long, hostile takeover battle for the company.
* Abbott Laboratories Inc. said it will buy Toronto-based International Murex Technologies Corp., which makes tests for AIDS and hepatitis, for about $234 million in cash.
* Eastman Kodak Co. Chief Executive George Fisher said he will not receive a bonus this year, effectively cutting his pay in half to about $2 million, because of Kodak’s disappointing performance. However, Fisher netted $9 million when he sold some Kodak stock in options-related trades. Kodak also said it will grant options to buy 100 shares to its 90,000 employees.
