Irvine’s Toshiba America Names President

Yoshihiro Maeda has been appointed president of Irvine-based Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., a major producer of personal computers. He succeeds Atsutoshi Nishida, who has been president since 1997. Maeda most recently served as general manager, PC Division, International Operations of Toshiba’s Digital Media Equipment and Services Co. Nishida will continue as Toshiba corporate vice president and executive vice president for Toshiba’s Digital Media Equipment and Services Co.

* Vic Sial has been named president of iBASEt (Information Based Technology) in Lake Forest. He succeeds Phil Davis, who resigned to pursue other opportunities, the company said. Sial had been senior vice president and chief financial officer. In addition, Dietmar Hanke has been appointed chief operating officer of iBASEt’s Solumina Division. He was director of implementation services.

* Patrick Avison has joined Sanwa Bank of California as a vice president and manager of the Newport Beach/Orange County real estate industries department. He was formerly a senior director and group manager at Bank of Montreal, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Coleman Homes Inc. and senior vice president of residential construction lending at Hawthorne Savings F.S.B.

* Stephanie Zoch is the new director of account services for TH&M; Advertising in Tustin. She had been account group head.
