Newport Manufacturer Expands Its Facilities
Conexant Systems Inc. said Monday that it has completed a major expansion of its manufacturing facilities in Newbury Park to support its two fastest-growing divisions, wireless communications and network access.
The Newport Beach semiconductor maker said in a press release that it invested $80 million in capital equipment in the expansion, which has increased capacity five-fold. It now can make 75,000 chips a year, compared to its previous capacity of 15,000.
