County Leases Former Braun Headquarters
Three Los Angeles County departments leased 210,000 square feet of office space in the San Gabriel Valley in one of the largest leases signed in Southern California in recent weeks.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s, Health Services and Public Works departments will consolidate 700 employees at 1000 S. Fremont Ave. in Alhambra in July in a 10-year, $50-million lease at the former headquarters of C.F. Braun Engineering, according to an announcement from Los Angeles-based Ratkovich Co.
The company, headed by President Wayne Ratkovich, recently acquired the 45-acre former C.F. Braun property for $75 million in association with First Union Securities and Lehman Brothers Holdings. The property, which includes up to 22 acres of land that can be developed, has been renamed the Alhambra.
The county was represented in lease negotiations by Charles P. Best of Real Estate Leasing Management Consultants. The landlord was represented by Timur Tecimer, Ron Heim and Eric Hinkelman of Trammell Crow.
