Micro Therapeutics Inc.:
The Irvine manufacturer of medical devices for vascular disease reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $3 million, or 37 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $3.4 million, or 51 cents a share, for the corresponding period last year. Sales advanced 51% to $1.3 million. For the year, the company lost $13.8 million, or $1.86 a share, compared with a net loss of $9.9 million, or $1.49 a share, for 1998. Sales declined 2% to $4.1 million.
