Dead Cat May Be Another in a String of Killings
HAWTHORNE — Police found another dead cat on a Hawthorne lawn Wednesday and believe the death may be connected to a rash of feline killings in the city.
Since July 1, as many as 26 dead cats, sometimes dismembered and decapitated, have been left on lawns, most within a half-mile-square area around 130th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard, police said.
Police are investigating, but have made no arrests.
