* Two UC Irvine faculty members, Robert Cohen and Donald McKayle, have been named the first Claire Trevor Professors. Each will receive funds drawn from the interest on separate $1-million endowed professorships to use in research and performance projects. Cohen, the author of a widely used textbook on acting, was the founding chairman of the UCI drama department. McKayle’s long career has included five Tony nominations, two Emmy nominations and other awards and honors. As Claire Trevor Professors, the two also become the first artists to join the Bren Fellows Program--established in 1988 by Donald Bren, chairman of the Irvine Co. and stepson of Trevor--to create a forum for distinguished scholars.
