* Morgan Stanley, the second-largest U.S. securities firm, said it received a subpoena this month from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission as part of the regulator’s probe of trading in U.S. energy markets.

* U.S. retail gasoline rose 0.1 cent to $1.44 a gallon in the week ended Monday, the highest price since Sept. 24, 2001, the Energy Department reported. Prices were highest on the West Coast, where they fell 1.2 cents to $1.482.
