U.S. Has Different Money Priorities
Regarding “United Airlines Is Rejected Again for Loan Guarantee,” June 29:
Let me get this straight: We sacrifice hundreds of American lives, and pour hundreds of billions of dollars into a foreign country to promote democracy and freedom, but we can’t give United Airlines a measly $1.1-billion loan guarantee to help get the firm back on its feet after the company almost went under as a result of 9/11.
