Rebel Ambush Kills 21 Police Officers

Maoist rebels ambushed two police trucks in Nepal, killing 21 officers and wounding 12, a police spokesman said.
The attack, the biggest since Sher Bahadur Deuba was reappointed prime minister June 2, took place on a highway in a forested area at Khairikhola, 280 miles west of the capital, Katmandu.
Survivors said hundreds of rebels fired weapons at one truck. The second exploded.
