Trade Panel to Examine HP’s Claim on Patents

The U.S. International Trade Commission said it had voted to investigate Hewlett-Packard Co.’s claim that rival computer makers have infringed some of its patents.
The International Trade Commission identified Gateway Inc. and EMachines as respondents in the case. The case involves imports of certain personal computers, monitors and parts that Hewlett-Packard says infringe its patents.
