She’s hardly ‘Rock Star’ material
IN his “analysis” of Zayra Alvarez’s performances on “Rock Star: Supernova” [“She’s Determined to Be Heard, Man,” Oct. 10], Josh Kun intimated that she was eliminated because of her ethnicity.
She sang a song of her own composition in Spanish, then got the boot.
Earth to Josh Kun -- I doubt you watched all the “Rock Stars,” because if you did, then you should understand why she was gone.
Her voice was thin, ineffective and at times her performance was hilariously inept.
Give Alvarez credit for being unusual and fearless, but do we want to see Charo fronting Supernova? We wanted to see the next Grace Slick or Janis Joplin.
Face it: She got bounced because she simply didn’t have the chops.
Comprende?
