Lindt considers buying Godiva

Swiss chocolate maker Lindt & Spruengli said it was considering a bid for Campbell Soup Co.’s Godiva unit.
The Kilchberg, Switzerland-based confectioner is “checking” whether buying Godiva would help the company become the world’s largest maker of premium chocolate, a spokeswoman said. Campbell Soup, based in Camden, N.J., hasn’t yet provided Lindt with information on the unit and the companies aren’t in talks, Lindt said.
