European regulators have notified American Airlines that they have objections to the airline’s bid for antitrust immunity to cover a joint venture with British Airways and Spain’s Iberia.
American, owned by AMR Corp., and BA have tried twice to form a closer alliance. But the carriers withdrew those bids after regulators insisted that they give up landing and takeoff slots at London’s Heathrow Airport.
