Polo player Guillermo Gracida Jr. saddles up to an equestrian estate in Santa Ynez
Guillermo Gracida Jr. has found a new place to ride in Santa Barbara County.
A corporate entity tied to the decorated polo player has bought an estate in Santa Ynez for $3.4 million. The property, which was built as a breeding and training facility, had been listed for as much as $4.95 million, records show.
Set behind iron gates, the approximately 45-acre estate includes a Tudor-style home, three barns, riding arenas and enough fenced pastures to contain a fleet of polo ponies.
The 3,078-square-foot house includes living spaces with beamed ceilings and hardwood floors, as well as a center-island kitchen and two fireplaces. There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms spread across two floors.
Trees dot the landscape of the estate, which features views of the surrounding mountains. Elsewhere on the property is a breeding area, a round pen and a grain silo, as well as a newly built manager’s quarters.

Born in Mexico, Gracida, 61, won 16 U.S. Open titles during his historic career, a record for the sport. He was inducted into the National Polo Hall of Fame in 1997.
