AT&T’s new upgrade plan was at the top of tech news Tuesday while Tinder also rolled out a version of its app for Android.
‘AT&T Next’ allows smartphone upgrades each year
AT&T’s new Next plan will allow users to pay for their phones on a monthly plan with no down payment or any other fees. After 12 payments, which can range from $15 to $50 depending on the device, users can upgrade to another device. Next, available starting July 26, follows T-Mobile’s Jump plan, which was introduced last week.
Tinder finally arrives on Android
After nearly a year of exclusivity on the iPhone, Tinder is now on Android. The popular mobile dating app can be downloaded from Google Play. Tinder lets users quickly see others and indicate whether they are interested in them by swiping left or rejecting them by swiping to the right.
Hollywood embraces Instagram video
The movie industry has begun using Instagram’s new video feature to create mini movies and mini movie trailers. Actors David Koechner and Harland Williams used Instagram for the first half of their buddy-cop movie “Steady and Shakes,” while “Jobs,” the Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher, used the feature to upload a 15-second movie trailer to the social network.
