Venus Williams sells in Hollywood Hills West

Venus Williams has sold a home in Hollywood Hills West for $1.7 million.

The midcentury post-and-beam house, built in 1955, features a foyer, a den, an updated kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Tax records show the house has 1,528 square feet of living space.

The swimming pool, lawn and deck have canyon views. There are also mountain views from the nearly half-acre site, which is set off a gated driveway.

Williams, 33, is a former Women’s Tennis Assn. No. 1-ranked singles player. She won her 45th WTA title at the Dubai Championships last month.

In addition to seven Grand Slam singles titles, she has four Olympic gold medals.

She bought the property for $1.9 million in 2005, public records show, and owns other property in the Los Angeles area.

Christine Taylor of Gibson International and Rada Roberts of Coldwell Banker were the listing agents. Peter Maurice of Rodeo Realty represented the buyer.
