Another Miley Cyrus cover? Elle UK releases second glamour shot

Miley Cyrus’ cover shot for Elle UK is strong and edgy. At least that’s how the cover’s curators describe it and her.

The 20-year-old former “Hannah Montana” star graces the magazine’s June issue, and photographer Jan Welters shot her 10-page spread. Cyrus is clad in the likes of Saint Laurent, Fendi, Emilio Pucci and Simone Rocha.

Alas, it’s a far cry from her twerking in a unicorn onesie, with Cyrus going all punk glam for the couture codex.

“I feel like it’s sometimes like doing an album,” Cyrus said of the shoot. “You don’t want to cut the songs that you do like but you can only choose a few and I feel like there’s so many options and outfits and pictures that you end up really wanting. I’m good that I don’t have to edit through the photos.

“Sex does sell, but you have to find a way that’s not just showing your ...,” Cyrus told the magazine. “I don’t want to be a glorified model. They just walk on stage and it’s all about their clothes -- or lack of clothes.’

The magazine posted her mohawked cover photo last Friday but revealed another, just as dramatic beauty shot for the cover that circulated over the weekend. Cyrus shared the black-and-white shot with her followers on Twitter.

“@ELLEUK sometimes covers are hard to pick. Guess well just go with 2 covers! #2isbetterthan1,” the “Ashtrays & Heartbreaks” singer wrote.

“Elle UK is really neat for me to do because I haven’t got to spend that much time in the UK yet and I haven’t really got to focus on my fans over there,” Cyrus said in a teaser video. “It is different and it does show a different side of style, which I think is really close to kind of how I am which gets to be a little more punk, a little more edgy.”

Whether she’s smoking salvia or going without her engagement ring, Cyrus’ personal life -- especially her relationship with “Hunger Games” actor Liam Hemsworth -- has kept her perpetually in the spotlight. And their impending marriage is constantly in question ever since breakup rumors hit an all-time high in March.

“We have a house together and dogs,” Cyrus tells Elle UK (via E!). “It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed. But we keep our relationship low-key and don’t talk about it anymore.”

And that’s why we’re not seeing as much of her personal life on her Twitter feed.

“We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight -- into my life and my puppies and my house -– and I just don’t feel they get that privilege any more,” she said. “Like on my Twitter, I’m much more ... not conservative, but you don’t see a picture of my dogs. You don’t get that personal stuff anymore.”

The June issue is out in the UK on May 1.
