ABC moves ‘Revenge’ to later hour, announces midseason premiere dates

Well, it looks like “Revenge” isn’t so sweet after all.

ABC announced its upcoming midseason premiere dates for new and returning shows — and from the looks of it, its taste for “Revenge” has soured a bit.

Beginning March 9, the sudsy drama will vacate its 9 p.m. slot on Sundays and head over to 10 p.m. The move comes as the third-season drama, once a solid performer for the network, has experienced dips in its ratings. The shift opens the plum 9 p.m. Sunday slot for freshman drama “Resurrection,” which had been slated for the 10 p.m. period.

Elsewhere, new series “The Assets,” “Killer Women,” “Mind Games” and “Mixology” have launch dates set.

“Killer Women” will fire up the 10 p.m. hour on Tuesdays, where fall freshman series “Lucky 7” wasn’t so lucky -- it was the first show of the season to get the ax. “Killer Women,” about the first woman (Molly Parker played by Tricia Helfer) to join the elite law enforcement group Texas Rangers, will have a three-month run before making way for new drama “Mind Games,” an upcoming crime series starring Christian Slater, in March.

And as Gladiators take a break with “Scandal” as it goes on hiatus, limited series “The Assets,” based on the life of CIA counterintelligence officer Sandy Grimes (Jodie Whittaker), will take over the Thursdays at 10 p.m. hour beginning Jan. 2. Earlier in the evening, reality competition series “The Taste” will start the night at 8 p.m.

On the comedy front, “Mixology” scores the “Modern Family” lead-in on Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. The series, from the writers of “The Hangover,” takes place over the course of one night. It will assume the slot that Rebel Wilson comedy “Super Fun Night” took up.

Then there are the familiar faces. Ladies can mark their calendars for the new season of “The Bachelor” with Juan Pablo Galavis. And after being absent from the fall roster, “Suburgatory” will return in its old digs, Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m., starting Jan. 15 -- a slot once held by canceled freshman baseball comedy “Back in the Game.”
