Today only, in Alhambra, Al’s Italian Beef sandwiches $1 and Nancy’s Pizza 25% off
Hey, Chicago is coming to Alhambra. Not the entire city, but two of its popular everyday restaurants. That would be Al’s Italian Beef and Nancy’s Pizza, opening Thursday right next door to each other at 401 W. Main St.
To celebrate their arrival in SoCal, Al’s is offering $1 beef sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Nancy’s is dishing up pizza all day at 25% off.
Al’s first started selling its Italian Beef Sandwich at a food stand in Chicago in 1938 and now has 17 restaurants across the country, counting the new one in Alhambra. The sandwich is thinly sliced roast beef on a bun. You can order it four ways—regular (with just a little gravy or jus), wet (extra gravy), dipped (which involves dipping the entire sandwich in the juices) or dry (no beef gravy).
Nancy’s Pizza is best known for its stuffed pizza billed as the first in the country and a Chicago favorite for decades. Nancy’s has been busy expanding to more than 30 locations in the Chicago area and Atlanta. The Alhambra restaurant will be the first in California. What is a stuffed pizza? Two layers of crust (just like a pie) with cheese and toppings stuffed inside and tomato sauce on top.
So if you’re anywhere nearby, point your GPS toward 401 W. Main St. in Alhambra to get in on the bargain introductory rate, Thursday only.
