Arts ReStore LA pop-up craft village to open in Westwood
Arts ReStore LA launches Friday night, turning empty storefronts in Westwood Village into temporary pop-up shops selling locally produced crafts, part of the Hammer Museum’s monthlong initiative to re-energize the area.
Starting with a free party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, shoppers can browse furniture, limited-edition apparel and homemade food in temporary stores, the spaces provided by Westwood landlords.
Arts ReStore LA will include works by well-known local artisans including furniture and accessories designer Tanya Aguiñiga, textile designer Bridgid Coulter and fashion designer Christina Kim of Dosa. Also part of the mix: gifts by ForYourArt, ceramist Heather Levine and others.
The Hammer Museum will host free DIY workshops and other events in conjunction with the campaign. Arts ReStore runs through Nov. 24. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. For addresses and parking information, consult this map provided by the Hammer.
