Earthquake: 2.6 quake strikes near La Verne

A shallow magnitude 2.6 earthquake was reported Friday morning one mile from La Verne, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:08 a.m. PDT at a depth of 0.6 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was one mile from San Dimas, two miles from Pomona and three miles from Diamond Bar.

In the past 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
