Coroner identifies man fatally shot outside his Arleta store
A man fatally shot in front of his Arleta store was identified Tuesday as 34-year-old Nestor Hernandez, officials with the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said.
Autopsy results are pending, said coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter, but police say Hernandez was shot multiple times.
Hernandez is believed to have been closing his shop Monday night in the 8900 block of Woodman Avenue when he was confronted by a man on the sidewalk, LAPD spokeswoman Norma Eisenman said.
His wife told authorities her husband had owned the store since February, Eisenman said.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:45 p.m. Monday, according to Winter. The gunman remains at large.
