Man falls to his death during annual Bay to Breakers race

Police are investigating a death in San Francisco after a man fell to his death from a three-story home during the annual Bay to Breakers race this weekend.

The man toppled about 3:30 p.m. Sunday from a home in the 2000 block of Fell Street, which is along the main route of the race. Police performed CPR until paramedics arrived and rushed the man to San Francisco General Hospital’s trauma center, where he was pronounced dead, officials said

Bay City News identified the man as David Hamzeh.

Hamzeh worked at a San Francisco company that confirmed his identify.

Bay to Breakers is an annual footrace through San Francisco that typically involves a lot of costumes, drinking and partying and little actual racing.
