Body found in trash can in Brea
A body was found Friday afternoon in a trash can in a semi-wooded section of Brea, prompting police to close stretches of Brea Canyon Road and Brea Boulevard, authorities said.
A motorist driving on Brea Canyon pulled over about 3:10 p.m. and looked inside a trash can that was on the side of the road. The driver “saw what appeared to be human hands” and immediately called the police, said Brea police Lt. Santo Porto.
Police have not yet determined the age, race or gender of the body, Porto said.
Investigators who responded to the crime scene shut down all traffic lanes from Brea Canyon at Tonner Canyon Road to Brea Boulevard at Canyon Country Road, police said.
