Chris Brown did not remove mural under pressure, attorney says
An attorney for Chris Brown said Saturday the singer did not take his mural of monster characters down from a wall outside his Hollywood Hills home because of pressure from the city, but simply because he is gearing up to sell the property.
Mark Geragos, Brown’s attorney, said there have been erroneous reports that the entertainer took the mural down because of a lost appeal.
It had nothing to do with the city, Geragos said.
The mural earned notoriety after some of Brown’s neighbors complained about the 8-foot-tall, neon-colored figures with goofy eyes and big fangs painted on an exterior wall of his Hollywood Hills home. Brown was given a citation by the city.
The citation was issued over “unpermitted and excessive signage” on Brown’s home.
