Woman apparently killed by Buena Park police car identified
A pedestrian killed this weekend when she was apparently struck by a Buena Park police car was identified Sunday by Orange County coroner’s officials.
Katherine Tinnell, 33, was hit shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Oregon Street in Buena Park, according to a coroner’s press release.
A coroner’s official referred calls about the incident to the California Highway Patrol, which referred calls to the Buena Park Police Department. Police did not return calls for comment Sunday morning.
Several news outlets including KNBC-TV Channel 4, KTLA-TV Channel 5 and KABC-TV Channel 7 reported that the woman was struck by a marked black-and-white Buena Park police car.
