Man accused of killing neighbor who complained about fireworks
An Orange County man who was shooting off fireworks in his backyard is being charged with fatally shooting a neighbor who had complained about the noise.
Authorities said Robert Joseph Price, 52, shot his Garden Grove neighbor in the face after a confrontation June 21.
Price is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of murder. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in state prison, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.
Price is being held on $1 million bail.
Authorities said that shortly before 1 a.m., Price was in his backyard, making noise and lighting fireworks.
His neighbor, Glen Berry, 53, reportedly walked over to Price’s house and knocked on the front door.
After answering his front door, Price allegedly shot the unarmed Berry.
Police said the neighbors had a long history of arguing with each other.
