Woman is found beaten to death inside an L.A. motel room
A woman was found beaten to death Sunday inside a motel room in Los Angeles, and police thus far have not identified a suspect in the slaying.
Her body was found at about 11:40 a.m. by a housekeeper at the Colony Motel in Harbor City, said Sgt. Bradley Hearn, the watch commander at the LAPD’s Harbor Division.
The motel is in the 1600 block of Pacific Coast Highway, a stretch of the thoroughfare dotted by hotels.
The woman probably died of blunt force trauma, Hearn said. The exact cause of death will be determined by the coroner’s office.
The victim was identified as Dalisa Lynetta Kuykendall, 47, of Garden Grove, the coroner’s office reported. An autopsy is pending.
Before Sunday’s slaying, the Harbor City neighborhood had three homicides during the previous 12 months, according to The Times’ Homicide Report database.
