East Hollywood strip mall damaged in fire
Fire raced through an East Hollywood strip mall early Monday, burning through a roof and damaging the attic, Los Angeles city fire officials said.
It took firefighters less than an hour to put out the blaze in the one-story, L-shaped building in the 1100 block of Vermont Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Humphrey said no people were injured. One of the stores in the strip mall was a pet shop, but it was not immediately known if any animals were harmed.
The fire’s cause was under investigation.
