Los Angeles jail inmate found dead in cell
Los Angeles police are investigating the death of a male inmate found in his jail cell early Tuesday, authorities said.
A 36-year-old man was found dead at 9:52 a.m. in a cell at the LAPD’s 77th Street Community Police Station jail, said Officer Drake Madison, a spokesman for the department.
The man’s name has not yet been released, pending family notification, authorities said.
Madison said the cause of death remains under investigation and that few details were immediately available.
