Man shot dead in East Los Angeles
Homicide detectives were investigating a shooting Monday night that left a man dead on an East Los Angeles street.
The shooting was reported shortly before 6 p.m. in the 3600 block of East 1st Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The victim, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information was immediately available.
Since January 2007, at least 73 homicides have been reported in East L.A., according to the Times Homicide Report database. The vast majority of the victims died from gunshot wounds.
