Vigil for drowned teens ends with four shot in downtown Oakland
A slain teenage girl and three other people who were wounded in a shooting in downtown Oakland on Tuesday night were caught in the crossfire of an argument among men playing dice, according to media reports.
The men were playing dice near 13th and Franklin streets about 5:40 p.m. when an argument escalated and someone pulled out a gun and began firing, a witness told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Pedestrians in the area scattered as bullets shattered storefront windows and struck four people, including a 16-year-old girl, Oakland police said.
The girl was killed and three others were injured but are in stable condition, said Oakland Police Officer Kyle Hazen. The girl and others had been attending a nearby vigil for two teens who drowned at Woodward Reservoir in Stanislaus County over Memorial Day weekend, police said.
The drowning victims disappeared during a family trip to the reservoir, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s officials said.
