Pacific Palisades shooting appears to be isolated, LAPD says

Los Angeles police said they are not looking for a suspect in the Pacific Palisades shooting Tuesday morning that left one person dead and another wounded, saying it appeared to be an isolated incident.

Authorities responded to a report of shots fired in the 1400 block of Paseo de Oro shortly before 8:30 a.m., LAPD Sgt. Albert Gonzalez said.

There, Officer Wendy Reyes said, authorities found a man and woman who had been shot. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, she said. The woman, shot multiple times, was taken to an area hospital. Her condition was not known.

The relationship between the man and woman was not immediately clear, Reyes said.

Though the investigation is ongoing, sources said it initially appeared to be a domestic situation.

Reyes said no search perimeter had been established.

Television footage showed several officers gathered in the residential neighborhood, surrounding what appeared to be a body covered by a tarp in the street.

The Times’ Homicide Report showed one homicide in Pacific Palisades -- a stabbing -- since 2007.
