Scattered showers hit L.A.; thunderstorms, mountain snow possible
The first storm of the fall season arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning, but don’t expect much in the way of rain.
The National Weather Service in Oxnard is predicting scattered showers in the region throughout Wednesday with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.
“Most areas will probably get around a tenth of an inch or less,” said weather service meteorologist Scott Sukup. “It will probably start to pick up a little bit more this afternoon.”
Sukup said daytime temperatures throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties would probably reach 60 to 65 degrees on Wednesday with lows falling into the upper 40s to mid-50s in the lower elevations.
Those who manage to make their way above 5,000 feet, however, might see an inch or two of snow, Sukup said.
Conditions are expected to start clearing up Thursday, with sunny skies and mild temperatures in the forecast for the weekend.
