Triple-digit temps expected in valleys; Tuesday hottest day of week
Tuesday marks the warmest day of the week in the Los Angeles area, according to the National Weather Service.
Highs Tuesday will range from the mid-70s to around 80 at the beaches, and the mid-80s to mid-90s inland, said meteorologist David Sweet.
The high for downtown L.A. is expected to be 88.
The valleys, in particular, will see hot weather. Areas of San Gabriel, San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys, could reach 101, 104 and 108, respectively, Sweet said.
With such rising temperatures, Sweet said Southern Californians should remember not to leave any pets or children in the car and to drink plenty of liquids.
Weather should cool down Wednesday through Friday, but may begin to warm up again over the weekend, Sweet said.
