O.C. firefighters rescue woman stuck between buildings

A 28-year-old woman was rescued in Santa Ana on Monday night after she tried to jump across two buildings and became stuck between the structures when she fell, a fire official said.

The woman tried to jump from a vacant commercial building to another building near Main Street and Edinger Avenue about 6:30 p.m. when she fell between the structures and became wedged in a small space, the Orange County Fire Authoritiy said.

She was stuck about five feet from the ground and was rescued by 30 firefighters, including members of a special Urban Search and Rescue team, Capt. Steve Concialdi said.

One rescuer was lowered down a line between the buildings, where he tied a harness on the victim. She was pulled out shortly after 8 p.m.

Concialdi said the woman sustained minor injuries to her arm and leg and arm and was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.
