Man attacks pregnant woman in Covina
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of attacking a pregnant woman in Covina early Sunday.
The suspect attacked the victim from behind as she walked near the intersection of Cienega Avenue and Treanor Avenue about 8 a.m., said Sgt. Dave Buckner.
“He punched her and kicked her,” Buckner said.
The man fled when the woman yelled that she was pregnant.
Buckner said the attack was the fourth such assault in the area over the last several months. The victims provided similar descriptions of the suspects in all four cases, Buckner said.
The suspect in Sunday’s attack was described as a Latino in his early 20s, about 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 8 and weighing 150 to 170 pounds. The man had a shaved head and was wearing a black sweatshirt and sunglasses.
Anyone with information is asked to call the San Dimas sheriff’s station at (909) 450-2700.
